OUR PHILOSOPHY AND PURPOSE
At iRespectOnline we are committed to helping small business and individuals establish and nuture their online reputations. We work with you to help you to build a strong and purposeful online presence. We ask the hard questions and work with you to provide an authentic “voice” when communicating with your audience. Aligning your purpose and values is imperative to building a strong community.
Damage to reputations comes from a mismatch or misinterpretation of what is said about your business (or you) and the reality of others experience of you.
Perception + Experience = Reputation.
Your “voice” must match the experience people have of you and/or your business or organisation. Loud “hype” and advertising puffery doesn’t cut it for progressive organisations in today’s world.
Fiona Lucas is the founder of iRespectOnline® and the parent forum Futureproof Your Kids™. She is a Social Media & Online Reputation Educator focused on helping Businesses and individuals to create and protect their online reputation. She is passionate about making the online world a more supportive and respectful environment for all through authentic and truthful representation.
Through her work in the online environment and in education Fiona recognised the importance of bringing the concept of reputation management to the forefront of online education and business strategy.
Progressive generations are growing up savvy with social media tools, but perhaps not so savvy with the online consequences of their interactions. Whether you are a celebrity, self employed , student or a business or organisation, reputation and brand walk hand in hand.
Having worked in the education sector for 16 years and then as a social media strategiest, Fiona has seen first hand the damage which can be caused to a reputation through the poor use of social media. Social media is a brilliant tool for magnifying messages, but unfortunately it magnifies mistakes too.
Fiona is the author of Futureproof Your Kids© and creator of the Four Rs Reputation Framework©.
She is a passionate advocate for protection of children’s reputations online. She has created a simple four-step framework to help parents guide their children as they enter the world of social media and to act as a life long guide to manage reputation.
The driving motivation is Fiona’s deep interest in ethics, good governance and trust-based relationship-building in the online space and her own experience of bullying both as a child and later in life. She believes that everyone should be aware of the need to manage their online presence in an authentic way and has recently adapted the four-step reputation framework for the business environment.
Recognised as a thought leader and well respected in the reputation field, she contributes blogs to various sites including Business Chicks and Happy Parenting and is a member of the Advisory Panel for KidTrack in the USA as well as a program partner for the Australian government’s Stay Smart online National Cyber Safety initiative.
